Many DJs are "one-size-fits-all". They do kids parties and school dances and pool parties and the like. Weddings are very different. The funny costumes and the jokes and the dance instruction are usually inappropriate for most weddings, but a lot of DJs don't understand that. They feel they are being "interactive".

Many of the bigger DJ companies can't even tell you who your DJ is going to be until a few weeks before your wedding. In the meantime, clients are communicating through a middle-man and hope that all their wishes get passed on to their eventual DJ.

Due to the easy availability of mp3s, a lot of people are trying to break into the DJ profession as quickly and cheaply as possible. But, providing DJ service at a wedding is more than playing a lot of songs. A wedding DJ needs to be able to organize and MC all of the things you want to take place and to do it with a good speaking voice.
The inexperienced, low-budget DJ doesn't understand how to "program" music that keeps the guests happy and the dance floor full. Knowing the tempo, or the beats per minute (BPM) of each song is critical to keeping the dance floor packed.
At Music In Motion we have been pleasing brides and grooms since 1991. We will organize and MC all of the things you want to have happen at your reception. Every song is catalogued and we know the BPM for every one. Our experience has taught us how to play the right song at the right time.
Our job is not to just play music. Our job is to make sure you can relax and have a great wedding!
